Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a senior investment sales professional to partner with the Wealth Client Group of NTAM and drive distribution to intermediary clients. You will align with leadership and sales teams to create tactical plans, collaborate with product and marketing to promote NTAM offerings, and design coverage models to maximize client opportunities.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in investment sales, a bachelor’s degree, and Series 7/66 licenses. CFA is preferred.

Responsibilities
  1. Partner with the Wealth Client Group of NTAM for optimal top-down/bottom-up relationship management driving distribution of NTAM solutions through WCG Intermediary clients. Align with NTAM leadership and sales teams to: Create targeted tactical plans for specific investor segments and clients to capture flows through a dynamic product-focused strategy. Partner closely with product and marketing teams to create and execute plans to promote the NTAM offering. Identify appropriate content and collateral needed for consumption to ultimately drive new opportunities. Design coverage model and resource plan to support sales efforts with existing NTAM clients and prospects, including optimal coverage models and metrics in order to achieve high degrees of success.
  2. Identify and address clients and prospects that have the highest probability of product adoption. As progress is made, this role will work closely with partners to introduce additional offerings and deepen client relationships across the firm.
  3. Build deep relationships with all intermediary and business partners in your territory to enhance relationship and drive opportunities to retain assets and grow where we can.
  4. Travel to WCG Intermediary client offices domestically to discuss all above (approximately 20-40% travel)
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years of investment sales experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required
  • NASD Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65) are required
  • CFA designation preferred
Competencies and Skills
  • Knowledge of investment management areas across all products and segments such as fixed income, active and passive equities, cash, alternative investments, securities and international together with other Northern products and services, usually acquired through related work experience, is required to respond to client's needs
  • Knowledge of national footprint across all channels including, but not limited to: Custodians, wirehouses, independent broker/dealers, regional broker/dealers, registered investment advisors, etc.
  • Ability to communicate and sell Northern products and services to generate revenue for the bank.
  • Knowledge of securities and pension industry products and services to compete with other financial institutions.
  • Negotiation skills are necessary to respond to fee proposals.
Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $99,600 - 169,200 USD Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.

Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
