Job summary

Gunnison Copper seeks a Manager of Accounting and Reporting to lead financial statement preparation and the monthly close at our Phoenix, AZ office. The role includes supervising reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting processes, while driving technical memos and ensuring GAAP/IFRS compliance.

You will collaborate with site finance and operations, oversee external auditors and tax advisors, and report to the Director of Accounting and Reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent designation preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in public company audits and 2+ years in industry accounting/reporting.
• 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role preferred.
• Big 4 accounting firm experience is highly preferred.
• Strong technical accounting experience, including financial statement preparation and memos.
• Understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of accurate and timely financial statements.
• Manage the monthly accounting close process including supervision of reconciliation preparation, journal entries, and monthly reports.
• Prepare technical accounting memos for complex issues.
• Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations.
• Provide oversight into accounting operations and internal controls.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with site finance and operations.
• Manage external auditors, quarterly reviews, and annual audits for financial and tax reporting.
• Manage third party tax advisors in preparation of tax provisions and returns.
• Other duties as assigned.
