Job summary

Gunnison Copper Project in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Chief Mining Engineer to lead the mining engineering strategy, optimization, and technical development for the Gunnison Copper Project. The role reports to the Senior Vice President, Projects, and serves as the senior mining engineering authority for mine planning and life-of-mine planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited university.
• P.Eng/P.E. designation or eligibility preferred.
• Master's degree in Mining Engineering or related field is an asset.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive mining engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior technical leadership role.
• Experience in open-pit mining, heap leach and SXEW is strongly preferred.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and consultants.
• Ability to evaluate and improve project economics through optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead mine planning, pit optimization, and life-of-mine scheduling.
• Develop and optimize mining strategies to maximize project value.
• Oversee prefeasibility, feasibility studies, and project development.
• Coordinate with geology, processing, environmental, and project teams.
• Mentor technical staff and manage external consultants.
