Job summary

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries seeks an Accounting Manager I to oversee the company’s accounting operations in a manufacturing setting, including monthly close, consolidated reporting, cost and inventory accounting, and internal controls.

You will lead a team of accounting professionals, drive process improvements, ensure U.S. GAAP compliance, and coordinate with tax and audit functions to deliver accurate, timely financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, cost and inventory accounting, and internal controls.
• Experience leading SAP month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes (FICO/MM/AA).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Oversee SAP close activities across General Ledger, AP, AR, FA, Inventory, and cost accounting.
• Maintain technical knowledge of SAP FICO, MM and AA modules.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and schedules for accurate reporting.
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costs and variances.
• Oversee inventory valuation, controls, and physical inventory processes.
• Coordinate audits and tax filings with external firms; support internal controls.
