Job summary

Purple Wave Auction is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a four-person team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Reporting to the Controller, this hands-on role blends people leadership with direct accounting work to ensure accurate financial reporting for our auction-focused business.

Collaborate with the Controller and cross-functional partners, drive month-end close, ASC 606 revenue, treasury support, and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 6+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in supervision.
• Expertise in month-end/quarter-end close and financial statement prep.
• Advanced Excel with pivots, VLOOKUP, and modeling.
• Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, cross-functional collaboration.
• U.S. work authorization; background check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily transaction processing for high-volume auction activities.
• Directly supervise AP/AR, including procurement, seller settlements, and collections.
• Ensure timely recording of revenue, fees, and related transactions.
• Support treasury relationships and operational reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare financial statements and variance analyses for stakeholders.
• Handle complex journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze key metrics and cash flow models for forecasting.
• Interpret new accounting rules with Controller.
• Represent accounting in cross-functional leadership meetings.
• Lead process improvements and system enhancements.
• Maintain accounting policies and assist external audits.
