Job description

In this position, you will directly grow a select group of established and highly successful strategic customer accounts in the pressure sensitive adhesive tape, graphics, and specialty film markets. You will also identify new opportunities within current accounts and develop new prospects in the market. Collaboration with the Market Segment Team—including Business Directors, Sales Managers, Technical Service, R&D, Business Development, Marketing, and Product Line Managers—is essential to drive profitable growth through account penetration, pipeline generation, and closing new business. This role reports directly to the National Sales Director for the Tape and Specialties Group.

Key Activities
  • Key Account Management: Support and develop relationships with large and medium accounts in the Tape and Specialty market, engaging various functions within these complex organizations.
  • Organization Navigation: Effectively navigate complex organizations via phone, online meetings, and onsite visits.
  • Relationship Building: Establish relationships across different functional areas to confirm supplier value throughout the organization.
  • Pricing and Margin Monitoring: With support from the Product Line Manager, monitor pricing and margins to maintain and grow profitability.
  • Market Outreach: Proactively call tape and specialty markets to identify opportunities, initiate campaigns, reach decision makers, and gather competitive intelligence.
  • CRM Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely information for Salesforce.com reporting.
  • Customer Support: Oversee sales and support for a select set of customers through the entire purchasing process.
  • Strategic Planning: Participate in monthly account planning with leadership for strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Market Intelligence Activities
  • Generate insights into market structure, needs, and trends through studies and analysis.
  • Participate in local market intelligence and benchmarking activities.
  • Understand customer expectations and market evolutions through stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify new markets, applications, customers, and opportunities regionally.
  • Assist in setting R&D priorities for new product development and technical support.
Accountabilities
  • Achieve YOY sales growth of 5-10%.
  • Implement strategic plans collaboratively with Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Own accounts from start to finish.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data.
Qualifications / Experience Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or related field; technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of territory management experience in chemical or adhesive markets.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM software, and web navigation.
  • Ability to analyze data for presentations.
  • Proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Innovative, flexible, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Positive, assertive approach with negotiation skills.
  • Based in the Midwest and willing to travel 40-60% of the time.
