ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the President of SWG, the Strategic Account Executive is responsible for providing a deep understanding of capital equipment requirements within the industrial cleaning and surface preparation Total Addressable Market (TAM), while identifying key sales opportunities in other serviceable markets. This role requires strong industry connections, particularly with key decision-makers among end users and asset owners in the surface preparation and industrial cleaning sectors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of the waterblast industry, particularly related to capital equipment purchasing.
  • Provide strategic insight into key customer targets, competitive landscape, barriers to entry, technology trends, purchasing behaviors, organizational structures, customer needs, regulatory drivers, and economic influences.
  • Drive sales of advanced systems across SHAPE, with a primary focus on SWG and SHAPE systems within the targeted TAM.
  • Identify and communicate vertical business opportunities, along with associated technical and business requirements, to support business justification and guide product development.
  • Monitor competing technologies and help develop and implement effective response strategies.
  • Work closely with R&D, engineering, and sales/marketing teams to deliver new insights and ensure business opportunity targets are met.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

TRAVEL

  • Frequent travel is required, including occasional extended trips.
  • Must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally, based on customer and business needs.
  • Travel could include visits to customer sites, trade shows, and SHAPE/SWG locations.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Strong industry connections in sand, water, and chemical cleaning industries, or with asset owners in the end-user space.
  • Advanced analytical skills and familiarity with complex sales methodologies.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent follow-up and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access).
  • High-level interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in teams and encourage collaborative input.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of company products and competing technologies.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering, but degrees in Business Administration or related fields will also be considered).
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or marketing within a related industry.

COMPENSATION:

The base salary for this position is $160,000 USD annually, plus commission. Total compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.

LOCATION:

This role is open to candidates located in the United States or Canada.
