Job summary

Alan-Baird-Industries in New Jersey is seeking a reliable operator to run upright stranding or Bartell machines, strand wire onto spools, and monitor quality.

You will set up machines, measure with micrometers, document job cards, and perform respools as needed. This role requires attention to detail, good documentation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Measures wire/cable for size using micrometers.
• Clears area of other wire materials. Completes job cards and wire log sheets.
• Sets up the machines by threading wire through machine guides. Secures materials according to job being run.
• Respools wire/cable using respooling machines.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Working conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasional exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, ambient air, fumes or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually high, safety equipment is mandatory.

Physical requirements:

• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Candidate must be able to perform the physical responsibilities of the job utilizing arms, hands, and fingers to perform complex functions of manufacturing parts and performing other duties of the job; e.g., standing, sitting, walking throughout the facility and stairs, bending, squatting, and kneeling, etc.
• Ability to lift items weighing 10-15 lbs.

Pay

$17.00-$17.00/hour
