Job summary
US Foods is seeking Straight Truck Drivers in the Houston area to join our delivery team. You will drive to customers, unload with a pallet jack or by hand, verify deliveries and collect payments when applicable. Start times between 4am-6am, average 8–12 hour shifts, Monday through Saturday with one day off during the week.
Day One benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance. Must have CDL Class B, at least 21, FMCSA Clearinghouse registration, and 6 months commercial driving
Qualifications
- Must have CDL Class B with required endorsements and DOT qualifications.
- Register with FMCSA Clearinghouse (required).
- Minimum six months commercial driving experience or three months in food/beverage delivery.
- Must be able to read and communicate in English.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
- Unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated storage areas.
- Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain signatures.
- Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
- Provide professional customer service to enhance client experience.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.

- Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
- Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas

- Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
- Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
- Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required
- Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have valid CDL Class B issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
- Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
- Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
- Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is $26.50.
