Job summary

Kroger's Fred Meyer division in Oregon seeks an Asset Protection Manager to lead the department, uphold core values, and safeguard assets. You will supervise staff, drive excellent customer service, and work to maximize store performance.

The role requires hands-on investigations, adherence to corporate policies, and collaboration with store teams to reduce shrink and improve safety. This is a full-time on-site position with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 1 year of retail asset protection experience.
• Minimum age 18 (21 in Alaska) and ability to pass background check.
• Ability to pass a drug test and work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coach direct reports; complete performance reviews and provide feedback
• Deliver and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service
• Maximize sales and sales margins
• Reduce dishonesty by investigating theft and by identifying high theft areas; apprehend individuals
• Monitor large shrink areas in stores
• Provide credible court testimony
• Implement corporate and divisional service, merchandising and operating requirements
• Maintain knowledge of merchandising plans and timetables

Minimum

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one year experience in retail asset protection or a combination of relevant education and experience
• Minimum 18 years of age/21 in Alaska
• Ability to pass a drug test
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality
• Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
• Familiarity with asset protection terms and processes
• Ability to make independent judgments with minimal supervision
• Ability to continue education
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass all state and federal private security requirements for licensing or certification
