Job summary

Story Time Chess is hiring part-time storytellers/ actors/ tutors to work in schools and communities throughout the Frisco area. If you can tell a story, you can teach chess! You’ll use our proven curriculum packed with stories, games, and puzzles, designed to make your lessons fun and engaging.

We set you up for success with clear lesson plans, training, and ongoing support. In addition to teaching, we welcome candidates who show leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Fun, animated, and great with children aged 3-7.
• Passion for teaching and hospitality.
• Organized, responsible, and reliable.
• Great communicator - responsive to families, schools, and our team.
• Comfortable with outreach (referrals, school contacts, community opportunities).
• Familiarity with chess is a plus but not required.
• Background in performance, teaching, or early childhood education is a bonus.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Background check required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach with our proven curriculum packed with stories, games, and puzzles.
• You’ll have clear lesson plans, training, and ongoing support.
• As Story Time Chess grows, tutors who excel may be considered for a “Super Tutor” role – part teacher, part leader.
