Job summary

Hearst Television's ABC affiliate in Rogers, AR is seeking a part-time Editor to cover news stories. You’ll edit stories with a strong eye for visual storytelling and sound, reporting to the News Director.

Responsibilities include editing stories, videos and newscasts on tight deadlines; maintaining archives; operating electronic newsgathering equipment; nonlinear editing with Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid and Edius for PKGs, VOs, VOSOTs and preproduction material; collaborating with producers,

Qualifications

• Knowledge of nonlinear editing software.
• Proficiency editing with Adobe Premiere.
• Can handle multiple assignments under deadlines.
• Knowledge of current video production techniques.
• Familiarity with mass communications law and media responsibilities.
• Record multiple feeds on a digital encoding system.
• Search for source materials from multiple outlets and platforms.
• Related military experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Edit stories, videos, and newscasts on tight deadlines
• Maintain news archives
• Operate electronic newsgathering equipment
• Nonlinear editing using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Edius for newscast elements including PKGs, VOs, VOSOTs, opens, teases and preproduction material
• Collaborate with producers, reporters and managers to produce high quality stories
• Ensure storage and organization of media files
• Maintain standards for all edited material
• Taking in ENG and SNG feeds
• Any other editing responsibilities as assigned by news managers
