Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent years of experience.
• Top-notch communication skills are an absolute must.
• Solid journalistic judgement and a news philosophy emphasizing accurate, fair, local content.
• Understanding of the tenets of professional journalism.
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content.
• Strong social media skills and active presence on platforms.

Responsibilities

• Pitch compelling stories using natural curiosity.
• Show creativity and storytelling skills.
• Craft stories of all lengths for platforms and specific audiences.
• Combine live pictures, graphics, video and sound for engaging experiences.
• Booth continuous coverage on live streams for breaking news and events.
• Try new things after discussions with supervisors.
• Ensure community voices are represented in the show.
• Use data analytics to shape show content.
• Challenge traditional ways of doing things.
