Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers, based in Fort Worth, TX, seeks a Project Engineer to lead design and engineering execution on water resources projects. You will own technical deliverables from concept through final design, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

The role emphasizes hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (1D/2D), stormwater systems, and FEMA documentation with CLOMR/LOMR. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate across disciplines, and communicate with public agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• 4+ years of progressive engineering experience.
• Proficient in engineering design and analysis software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical work and coordinate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and produce complete engineering designs, plans, specs, reports, and estimates.
• Evaluate design alternatives balancing quality, constructability, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate technical work with project managers, subconsultants, and external stakeholders.
• Review work prepared by engineers, EITs, designers, and technicians for accuracy.
• Prepare technical reports and FEMA documentation (LOMR/CLOMR).
• Mentor junior staff and support professional development.
• Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (1D/2D) for infrastructure projects.
• Develop stormwater systems, detention facilities, open channels, and drainage improvements.
