Job summary

The Village of Downers Grove is seeking a Stormwater Administrator in the Engineering Department to plan, organize, and evaluate stormwater functions, administer the Stormwater and Floodplain Ordinance, and ensure compliance with regulations while operating the stormwater system.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of civil engineering, hydraulics, and permitting, with a Bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years’ experience; a P.E. license is preferred. Strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with stormwater design knowledge.
• Four to six years of civil engineering experience, with stormwater/floodplain experience preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and State Registered P.E. certification; Floodplain Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs and oversees processing and organization of stormwater permits.
• Maintains and verifies permit documentation per requirements.
• Liaises between Engineering and Community Development on permitting activities.
• Coordinates permit review with other Village departments.
• Ensures conformance with state and federal stormwater programs (NPDES, etc.).
• Prepares the Village's Annual Stormwater Report.
