Job summary

West Virginia seeks a Technical Analyst to join the Division of Water and Waste Management, Permitting / Stormwater, with an office in Kanawha City. You will review land disturbance permit applications, evaluate the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, BMPs, and engineering plans to ensure compliance with state and federal rules.

Ideal candidates bring expert knowledge of slope stability, storm water management, erosion control, and NPDES permitting.

Qualifications

  • Preference for expert knowledge on slope stability and storm water management.
  • Understanding of erosion and sediment control methods and laws.
  • Ability to analyze design plans and maps for compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review land disturbance permit applications and assess BMPs and plans for compliance.
  • Travel to hearings to assist Public Information Officer and present positions.
  • Receive comments from the public and draft responses for leadership approval.
  • Conduct pre-application meetings for pipeline installation permits.
  • Provide technical review to help municipalities with stormwater challenges.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering
