Job summary

The West Virginia environmental agency seeks a Technical Analyst in the Division of Water and Waste Management, Permitting / Stormwater section, based in Kanawha City. You will review land disturbance permit applications, evaluate BMPs, and prepare precise responses for the Director's signature.

Expect to testify at hearings, interact with the public, assist municipalities, and help audit compliance as part of statewide stormwater programs while staying up to date with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or ABET-accredited college with a major in Civil, Electrical, Electrical Design, Mechanical, Chemical or Mining Engineering Technology.
• Knowledge of erosion and sediment control, storm water management, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders and testify before boards or hearings.

Responsibilities

• Review land disturbance permit applications and assess BMPs and engineering plans.
• Attend hearings and draft responses to public comments for leadership review.
• Coordinate with municipalities and assist public information at hearings.
• Provide compliance audit support and assist in statewide program implementation.
