Job summary

Montgomery Parks seeks a skilled Stormwater Maintenance Leader to oversee daily park drainage maintenance, supervise crews, and ensure safety standards are met. The role focuses on leading a team, coordinating schedules, and maintaining facilities across the Southern Region of Parks.

The position requires a Class-A CDL within 12 months, strong knowledge of stormwater practices, and the ability to manage environmental compliance while supporting emergencies and weather-related events.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in ground maintenance, golf course maintenance, building maintenance or park maintenance.
• Must obtain Class-A CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Pass Commission medical examination.
• Maryland pesticide applicator certification, fertilizer applicator certification, and National Playground Safety Institute certification may be required.
• Maryland Department of Agriculture certifications will be determined by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead stormwater maintenance across park systems and facilities.
• Supervise staff, schedule work, and ensure environmental compliance.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair drainage systems and infrastructure.
• Support emergency response operations (e.g., storm events, flooding, debris removal).
