Job summary

The City of Doral seeks a qualified inspector to oversee contracting crews and perform inspections of roads, storm drains, and canals within the Stormwater Utility.

You will monitor schedules, review invoices, ensure compliance with FDOT and Miami-Dade standards, and maintain safe working conditions while coordinating with contractors.

This full-time non-exempt role requires an associate degree, two years of inspection experience, and Florida certifications; valid Florida license preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires an Associate's degree (AA/AS) or equivalent in technical/construction/engineering field; bachelor’s preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in construction inspection for roads, storm drains, canals, etc.
  • OSHA trench safety certificate within one year of hire; Florida certifications required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and documents performance of contractual services; manages scope of work and budgets.
  • Monitors scheduling and progress; recommends efficiency improvements.
  • Records important dates and progress using GIS/Google Earth for stormwater infrastructure.
  • Reviews Stormwater Utility related programs and payment requests for contract compliance.
  • Maintains safety and quality standards per City policies.
