Job summary

Citrus County Government is seeking a Medium Equipment Operator for Stormwater to perform labor and operate light to medium equipment for road and right-of-way maintenance. The role requires field work, safety adherence, and the ability to respond to emergencies.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED, 1 year operating medium equipment, and a Florida CDL Class A w/ N endorsement. Training in MOT and NIMS is required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months of construction experience, preferably road/bridge.
• One year experience operating and maintaining medium equipment.
• Valid Florida driver license; CDL Class A w/ N endorsement.
• FDOT MOT certification or ability to obtain.
• NIMS ICS IS-100.c and IS-700.b certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain medium equipment to support road, drainage, and right-of-way projects.
• Drive county vehicle and comply with safety policies and traffic laws.
• Record maintenance and daily tasks; prepare reports as required.
• Assist with debris removal and disaster preparedness duties.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and emergency call-outs.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
