Job summary

Davey Resource Group (DRG) is seeking a motivated Stormwater and Compliance Inspector to support stormwater compliance services across Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan. The role focuses on pursuing new opportunities, supporting clients, and integrating compliance into construction and restoration projects.

The ideal candidate will be independent, customer-facing, and technically strong with hands-on NPDES permit inspections and SWPPP oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Environmental Studies/Science or related field.
• 1+ years of experience performing NPDES stormwater/SWPPP inspections on construction or maintenance projects.
• Working knowledge of NPDES permitting requirements including Indiana CGP and DEP Chapter 102.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication, especially with clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform NPDES stormwater compliance inspections and reporting per permit requirements in IN/MI as applicable.
• Manage and audit SWPPPs to ensure permit compliance.
• Review construction plans to ensure ESC measures are effective and practical for field use.
• Coordinate with contractors and project managers to ensure BMPs are installed and documented.
• Serve as a client-facing representative for stormwater/NPDES services to support growth in Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan.
• Prepare inspection reports, logs, corrective actions, and regulatory correspondence.
• Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies regarding NPDES, stormwater, erosion controls.
