Job summary

Commonwealth of Virginia Careers seeks part-time staff to stand-by for call-in work to support storm preparation and snow removal activities in Stephens City, Virginia.

You will assist with emergency operations, perform heavy manual labor, operate equipment (loaders, backhoes, skid steers, tractors), and perform preventative maintenance on winter equipment. Shifts may include day or night hours and require safety shoes and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate equipment such as loaders, backhoes, skid steers and tractors.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Operations: assist and support operations for clearing snow and ice from roadways.
• Manual Labor: install tire chains, plow blades, and remove debris.
• Preventative Maintenance: perform maintenance on equipment used during inclement weather.
