Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Data Collection Technician (Damage Assessor) in our Distribution department. This role involves leading a two-person team, performing inspections of damaged distribution assets after storms, and using smartphones/tablets to capture data on-site.

Travel and extended hours are common, with safety training provided. This position requires 10+ years of lineman experience, strong map-reading and navigation skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 10+ years lineman experience for inspections.
• Proficiency with smartphones/tablets for data entry and communication.
• Ability to travel to various client sites and work independently.
• Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Complete detailed assessments accurate to field conditions.
• Record data using standards clear to project personnel.
• Communicate with team to ensure data collection accuracy.
• Use smartphones/tablets to collect and document data.
• Utilize GPS to navigate territory and client sites.
• Identify items to be documented with minimal supervision.
• Meet production targets and project milestones.
• Follow safety protocols and participate in safety initiatives.
• Assist in power restoration during disasters.
• Overnight travel may be required.
