iCOMAT is seeking a Storesperson to manage inventory and warehouse operations in a manufacturing environment. You will record and store materials, conduct stock checks, and handle order fulfilment with attention to accuracy and safety.

The role requires forklift certification, experience with inventory systems, and strong communication. You will work closely with Production, Quality Control and Procurement to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification and experience operating material-handling equipment.
• Experience with inventory management systems or software.
• Syspro knowledge preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications and inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Record, label and store incoming materials and finished goods in the warehouse.
• Perform perpetual stock checks and audits; report discrepancies to Operations.
• Handle order fulfilment and kitting in line with MRP; ensure timely dispatch.
• Check deliveries for damage or shortages; quarantine items for QC when needed.
• Store goods safely per supplier/internal guidelines; maintain clean, safe warehouse.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations; escalate hazards to Warehouse Manager.
• Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to move goods.
• Suggest improvements to warehouse processes to boost efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality Control and Procurement to support business goals.

The business has currently more than 130,000 sqm of production capacity with manufacturing facilities in the UK (Gloucester and Swindon) and the US (Dayton, Ohio); a Hardware R&D Centre in Bristol, UK; and a Software R&D Centre in Athens, Greece.

What will you be doing?

Inventory Management

Accurately record, label and store all incoming materials, components and finished goods in the warehouse. Regularly update inventory records using the company's inventory management system.

Stock Control

Conduct perpetual stock checks and audits to ensure that inventory levels are accurate. Report any discrepancies or issues to the Operations team.

Order Fulfilment

Cover kitting requirements in line with MRP, dispatching materials and components to production as required, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy in order fulfilment.

Goods Receipt

Fully check deliveries for damage, incorrect supply or shortages. Quarantine items requiring Quality Control inspection until released by QC. Coordinate with the Procurement team to resolve any issues.

Goods Storage

Ensure all goods are stored safely and in accordance with the suppliers' or internal recommendations.

Health & Safety Compliance

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring that the warehouse environment is kept clean, organised and safe at all times. Isolate and report any hazards or incidents to the Warehouse Manager.

Material Handling

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment to move and store goods safely and efficiently.

Process Improvement

Identify and suggest improvements to warehouse processes and inventory management practices to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with other departments, including Production, Quality Control and Procurement, to support overall business objectives.

What do we need from you?

• Proven experience as a Storesperson, Warehouse Operative or similar role in a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse processes. Syspro knowledge is preferred but not essential
• Forklift certification and experience operating material-handling equipment is required
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manually lift and move objects up to a manageable weight, with no history of back complaints
