Job summary

iCOMAT in Ohio seeks an experienced facilities and manufacturing operations leader to coordinate site setup, manage day-to-day operations, and oversee hiring and training. You will ensure safety compliance and drive efficient, scalable processes across the site.

Reporting to leadership, you will liaise with international directors, manage supplier relationships, and take P&L responsibility as the company scales its composite manufacturing footprint in North America.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing or facilities operations, preferably composites or aerospace.
• Experience setting up or running mid-size technical workshops or sites.
• Knowledge of working on Grant & Customer funded projects is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site setup, equipment commissioning, and contractor scheduling.
• Manage day-to-day operations across fabrication, stores, and general services.
• Oversee shift scheduling, entry-level hiring, and basic training needs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and site procedures.
• Serve as point of contact for local suppliers, vendors, and facility support.
• Liaise regularly with UK Directors to maintain reporting and alignment.

We have ensured iCOMAT is made up of people with the drive and imagination to grow a business that will revolutionise the use of composite materials to enable the next generation of lightweight cars, planes and spacecraft.

We build and operate automated factories for composite materials, delivering components to Tier 1 and OEMs. The business has 3 main divisions that focus on the development of automated production machines, development of software design and production tools and lastly the operation of the factory.

Now working with >25 customers (multiple leading OEMs) and earlier this year we completed the largest ever Series A in composites manufacturing link to fuel a significant scale-up with growth plans that will see the business multiply in size over the next 2-3 years and expand operations into Europe and the US.

The business currently has facilities in Gloucester UK (Factory 1), Bristol UK (Hardware R&D Centre) and in Athens GR (Software R&D Centre).
