Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Griffin, GA, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to coordinate outbound shipping, pallet readiness, and parts handling in a fast-paced distribution center.

Additional Information
  • This role is for 1st Shift: Monday through Thursday 6:30am - 5pm
  • Starting pay for this role is $21.38
Job Responsibilities to include but are not limited to
  • Coordinate outbound shipping activities, including system processing, pallet availability, and shipment of readiness.
  • Order filling, processing, storing/picking of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Schedule trucks and carrier pickups to support operational and customer delivery requirements.
  • Multiple systems interaction
  • Prioritize receipts based on receiving schedules
  • Interact with carriers
  • Utilize forklift experience to safely support loading, unloading, and material handling operations.
  • Coordinate with logistics and external carriers to set up expedited shipments
  • Ensure accurate counts are recorded prior to any movements into or out of the finished goods inventory
  • Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
  • Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers
  • Develops a culture that works to achieve and maintain an accident-free workplace
  • Develops a culture that works to achieve and maintain ongoing housekeeping excellence
Basic Qualifications
  • Previous distribution center, warehouse and/or order filling experience
  • Knowledge of parts systems, procedures, and operation
  • Ability to work with minimal supervisor
  • Computer literate
  • Good attendance record
  • Ability to maintain complete and accurate records
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Fork truck experience preferably larger equipment
  • Minimum of five years related experience and/or training
Top Candidates will also have
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues by interacting with others
  • Familiarity with interpretation of Assembly Planning documentation
Physical Requirements
  • Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment
  • Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 10 hours.
  • All positions also require the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling

Summary Pay Range

$21.38 - $27.31

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
