Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Material Handler to support production, safely picking, kitting, receiving, putting away, and delivering materials. You will document movements, ensure correct parts and quantities, and use material handling equipment. Training and development opportunities are available across shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in logistics and warehousing.
• Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge.
• Experience operating material handling equipment (Counterbalance, turret, reach and picker forklifts).
• Previous Caterpillar paving experience is a noted preference.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials by hand.
• Cross-train in shipping, receiving, and storage.
• Follow work orders to move materials.
• Load materials into vehicles and secure with strapping.
• Move materials from storage to designated areas.
• Perform minor forklift maintenance and safety checks.
• Operate forklifts to load/move products.
• Assemble crates for machines or vehicles.
• Participate in training and development.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Job Summary

As a Material Handler, you will support varied areas of production, safely and efficiently pick, kit, receive, put away, and prepare material and machines. Accurately document material and movement for all materials. Order and safely deliver all material to the appropriate locations ensuring right part at the right place at the right time in the right quantity and quality using various material handling equipment.

Available Shifts

• 1st Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00am-2:00pm Overtime as required
• 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday 2:00pm-10:00pm Overtime as required
• 3rd Shift: Sunday- Thursday 10:00pm-6:00am Overtime as required

Pay Rate and Scheduled Compensation Extension

• 2nd & 3rd Shift includes a total compensation of $23.30/hour. Total compensation includes a base wage of $22.05/hr plus a shift differential of $1.25/hr)
• 1st Shift includes an hourly compensation of $22.05/hr, plus overtime. Paid weekly.
• Paid time-off: Vacation, holiday, and Winter Holiday*
• 401K matching AND additional 2-5% annual company contribution*
• Additionally, all shifts are eligible for a comprehensive day-one benefit program, generous time off, and retirement benefits, as well as weekly pay.

What will you do

• Load and unload materials on to or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand
• Cross train in shipping, receiving, and material handling/storage
• Follow work orders and instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Conveys materials from storage or worksites to designated areas
• Preforms minor preventative maintenance on forklifts (check fluid levels, lights, horns, etc.)
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators
• Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading and moving materials and products
• Assemble crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles
• Occasionally participate in training and development
• Perform any other assigned duties

What you will have

• Minimum 3 months experience in logistics and warehousing
• Intermediate to advance computer knowledge

What would make you a top candidate

• Previous Caterpillar paving experience
• Previous experience operating material handling equipment (Counterbalance, turret, reach and picker forklifts)
• Ability to utilize computers and scanners for material moving transactions
• Previous SAP Mach 1 experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range

$22.05 - $28.35 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
