Stores Clerk - Airborne A&P Pathway Program

Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services, a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc., offers a unique opportunity for motivated individuals to enter aviation maintenance—no prior experience required.

As a Stores Clerk, you'll join the Airborne Tech program—a hands-on, earn-and-learn pathway leading directly into our FAA-certified A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) school in partnership with Laurel Oaks Career Campus. Starting in June, the program has a completion time of just 12 months, allowing you to earn wages and benefits while gaining real-world experience in our large-scale MRO heavy maintenance operation. As you achieve your certifications, you'll be promoted along the way. Upon successful completion, participants are eligible for a paid toolbox (restrictions apply) and a long-term career within a growing aviation company—at a significantly reduced cost, thanks to Airborne's investment in your future.

About the Stores Clerk Role:

This position involves movement, stocking, issuing, warehouse transfers, and returns of aircraft parts, tooling, and equipment, maintaining accurate inventory in a safe, clean, and professional environment. Responsibilities include stocking inventory received from suppliers, shipping and receiving inventory, and fulfilling inventory requests from Product Line customers. The role reports to the Supervisor, Stores, and is located in Wilmington, Ohio.

What You Need:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 2 years' experience in materials management/inventory controls or warehouse environment requiring organizational skills and knowledge of materials movement and transactions
  • Valid and unrestricted Driver's License with the ability to qualify for and maintain DOT medical certification for intra and interstate operation
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds, climb, and lift articles above head
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, including split shifts during the week and weekends
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
  • Ability to twist, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, and sustain those positions
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
  • Ability to work with arms raised above head and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to manipulate hand tools precisely in various situations
Additional Details:
  • Full-Time Position
  • Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour (higher rates possible based on experience)

Career Progression & Pay Increases:

Begin as a Stores Clerk earning $18/hour while gaining hands-on experience. As you earn your Airframe certification, you'll receive a pay increase and greater responsibilities. Completing the A&P program and obtaining both licenses will increase your pay to at least $26/hour (dependent on experience).
