Job summary

AEP is seeking a Stores Attendant to assist in Material Services, handling storeroom and storage yard duties in an entry-level role with hands-on training. You will process material receipts, verify quantities, and support inventory control and shipping activities.

You will operate material handling equipment, maintain records, and participate in cycle counts while complying with safety rules and procedures. This position is onsite with potential CDL considerations.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Work experience in inventory control, material handling or warehousing.
• Basic computer skills to use inventory management software (Maximo).
• Proficiency in Excel and Word preferred.
• Strong knowledge of logistics related to shipping and relocating inventory.
• Ability to perform basic math and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Issue material under proper authorization and process related records.
• Check received material for quantity, identity, breakage and condition; record receipts.
• Identify and sort material returned; place usable material in stock and scrap unusable material.
• Operate material management system terminals and standard office equipment.
• Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage; prepare shipping papers.
• Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, hoists, cranes) as required.
• Maintain inventory levels and assist with cycle counts; resolve discrepancies.
• Assist supervisor and other employees; train when required.
