Job summary

Lighthouse Windows Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Storefront Estimator to join our Santa Clara team. You will play a key role in winning new business by delivering accurate, competitive bids for commercial storefront and glazing projects in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, generating RFIs, using estimating software for takeoffs and labor analysis, and collaborating with project managers and the sales team to develop winning bid strategies.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial glazing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Familiarity with storefront systems, hardware, glazing components.
• Strong math and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience with estimating software and MS Excel/Outlook.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, project specifications, RFIs.
• Generate RFIs and emails with GC to clarify scope.
• Use estimating software to conduct material takeoffs and labor analysis.
• Solicit and evaluate supplier quotes for competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers and sales to develop bid strategies.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for glazing projects.
• Track multiple bids and meet deadlines.
• Maintain estimating databases, cost histories, bid logs.

• Solicit and evaluate supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing
• Collaborate with project managers and sales team to develop winning bid strategies
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for commercial storefront, curtain wall, and glazing projects
• Track and manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
• Maintain and update estimating databases, cost histories, and bid logs

Requirements

• 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial glazing
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with storefront systems, door hardware, glass railing systems, interior partitions, glass, louvers, mirrors, fire rated systems, and multislide/bifolding doors.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
