Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries is seeking a Visual Merchandiser to craft engaging store displays and interior layouts, coordinating furniture, lighting, and accessories to elevate the shopping experience. The role reports to Visual Leadership and requires hands-on execution of merchandising standards.

Responsibilities include optimizing product sell-through, coordinating seasonal transitions, and mentoring staff in merchandising basics while maintaining store aesthetics and standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in retail store visual merchandising, preferably in home furnishings
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Ability to lift and transport heavy loads
• Flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Implement a visual merchandising strategy that helps achieve the Company’s sales volume and financial objectives.
• Execute visually appealing and well-balanced store merchandising displays under the direction of Visual Leadership; coordinate layout plans for furniture, lighting, and accessories; transition seasonal products.
• Remerchandise displays, signage, point-of-sale, and select areas regularly to maximize product sell-through; perform floor moves as needed; communicate with Visual management on sold items.
• Complete the store's recovery processes throughout the day; maintain store appearance with warehouse and housekeeping support; initiate repair/maintenance of lighting, fixtures, paint, flooring, etc.
• Check-in and unpackage accessory merchandise and other product shipments in collaboration with warehouse; coordinate tagging, felt-dotting, and showroom placement; participate in bi-annual inventory.
• Adhere to all visual merchandising standards and bulletins; ensure AV items comply with standards; involve staff in visual maintenance.
• Develop knowledge on all company products, promotions, and store functions; stay updated on fashion trends.
• Mentor store staff on merchandising basics; involve staff in visual maintenance; communicate Visual standards to team.
• Coordinate with the store manager regarding regular tasks, visual needs, incoming products, POS materials, etc.
• Complete any additional tasks assigned by management.

The Visual role creates visually engaging store displays, interior layouts, and well-balanced audio elements. Working under the guidance of Visual Leadership, the visual will use their creative skills to design and present merchandise in a way that enhances the overall shopping experience for our guests. By implementing innovative merchandising strategies, the Visual team contributes to creating a memorable and enjoyable shopping experience that helps to attract and retain customers.

What You’ll Do

• Implement a visual merchandising strategy that helps achieve the Company’s sales volume and financial objectives.
• Execute visually appealing and well-balanced store merchandising displays under the direction of Visual Leadership, coordinate layout plans for furniture, lighting, and accessories, and transition seasonal products.
• Remerchandise displays, signage, point-of-sale, and select areas regularly to maximize product sell-through. Execute floor moves or any other necessary changes consistent with the layout plan and product focus; communicate regularly with Visual management on sold items.
• Complete the store's recovery processes throughout the day. Maintain store interior and exterior appearance with the assistance of the warehouse and housekeeping associates. Initiate repair and maintenance of store lighting, fixtures, paint, flooring, etc., in conjunction with store management.
• Check-in and unpackage accessory merchandise and other product shipments in collaboration with the warehouse associate; coordinate product tagging, felt-dotting, and showroom placement; participate in the bi-annual inventory process.
• Adhere to all visual merchandising standards and bulletins provided by Visual Leadership. Ensure audio/visual items, such as store music, sign height, etc., comply with the communication standards to store associates and involve associates in the visual maintenance of the store.
• Develop high levels of knowledge on all Company products, promotions, and store functions; keep up to date on fashion styles and trends.
• Mentor store staff on merchandising basics. Involve the staff in the visual maintenance of the store and assist in communicating with the Company’s visual merchandising standards.
• Coordinate with the store manager regarding regular tasks & duties, visual needs, incoming products, point-of-sale materials, etc.
• Complete any additional tasks assigned by management.

What You Bring

• Legally authorized to work in the US.
• At least 18 years old.
• 2 years' experience in retail store visual merchandising, preferably in home furnishings preferred
• Regularly lift objects over 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
• Ability to transport loads of 100 IBS with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Associate degree in interior design, merchandising, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain reliable attendance
