They are responsible for ensuring fast, friendly customer service, helping customers navigate the wide range of products, and impacting customer satisfaction, store profitability, and Academy's Mission.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Work Experiences:

• Previous related work experience preferred.
• Operating POS equipment, symbol, and telephone preferred (Cashier only).
• In-direct support of people and processes to drive operational excellence and sales targets (Cashier only).
• 4+ years of outdoor hobbies, interests, and skills; fishing and hunting experience preferred (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• CPR and First Responder certification is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).
• Loss Prevention or Criminal Justice background is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Skills:

• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Ability to connect, build rapport, and engage with customers, especially those interested in sports and outdoor pursuits; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Effective problem solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
• Proficiency in basic math and understanding instructions in various forms.
• Operate and coach others on POS equipment, symbol, and telephone (Cashier only).
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence (Cashier only).
• Working knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems (Cashier only).
• Passionate about outdoor hobbies and skills such as fishing, hunting, shooting, and camping (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• Must meet federal and state requirements for firearm transactions (Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member only).
• Must qualify for/maintain FOID card (Illinois only, Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member only).
• Proficiency with basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
• Provide prompt, friendly service to customers and team members.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
• Strong situational awareness and observation skills.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good hearing and vision to perform duties.
• Adherence to work hours, policies, and procedures.

• Constantly lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
• Stand, handle, and perform repetitive motions regularly.
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
