They are responsible for ensuring fast, friendly customer service, helping customers navigate the variety of choices Academy offers, and impacting customer satisfaction, store profitability, and our mission.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Associates or Bachelor's in Criminal Justice preferred (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Work Experiences:

• Previous related work experience preferred.
• Operating POS equipment, symbol, and telephone preferred (Cashier only).
• In-direct support of people and processes to drive operational excellence and sales targets (Cashier only).
• 4+ years of personal experience with outdoor hobbies, interests, and skills; fishing and hunting experience preferred (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• CPR and First Responder certification is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).
• Loss Prevention or Criminal Justice background is a plus (Asset Protection Team Member only).

Skills:

• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Ability to connect, build rapport, and engage with customers who share interests in sports and outdoor pursuits; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
• Proficiency in basic math and applying instructions.
• Operate and coach others on POS equipment, symbol, and telephone (Cashier only).
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence (Cashier only).
• Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems (Cashier only).
• Passionate about outdoor hobbies such as fishing, hunting, and camping (Outdoor Enthusiast only).
• Must meet federal and state requirements for firearm transactions (Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member only).
• Must qualify to obtain/maintain FOID card (Illinois only, Fishing and Hunting Sales Team Member only).
• Proficient with basic hand tools and equipment.
• Provide prompt, friendly customer service.
• Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
• Strong situational awareness and observation skills.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Normal hearing and vision required.

• Lift up to 10 pounds constantly and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
