ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the following, in addition to other duties as assigned:

1. Acts as Manager on Duty (MOD) in most cases, performing all necessary functions for successful store operation. Takes direction from the Store Manager and makes key decisions regarding store resources and operations.
2. Executes merchandising plans and maintains in-stock conditions throughout the store.
3. Drives engagement by communicating with customers and providing feedback and service results to associates. Resolves customer issues promptly and effectively.
4. Oversees work assignments to utilize talents and abilities while maximizing profits. Ensures compliance with all labor laws, including lunch breaks and scheduling restrictions.
5. Oversees departmental procedures for receiving, producing, and replenishing merchandise, including inspecting deliveries, pricing accuracy, freshness, quality, and product rotation. Keeps necessary logs according to company policy.
6. Ensures associates operate equipment safely, complying with OSHA requirements, and maintains compliance with price accuracy and weights and measures laws.
7. Performs daily store walks to identify successes and opportunities, provide direction and feedback, and maintain visibility and accessibility to associates and customers.
8. Supports and executes all company programs to achieve business goals. Communicates policies effectively to associates.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Shift Supervisor directly supervises multiple aspects of the store, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity among all associates.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To succeed, the Associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED is required; an associate degree or two years’ experience is preferred.
