Job summary

Murphy USA is hiring a part-time Shift Lead in the Opelousas, LA area. You will provide prompt, courteous customer service, operate the cash register, and ensure fuel and merchandise are available for customers.

You’ll help lead the team to exceed store performance goals while maintaining a clean, safe environment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or 6 months of related experience) and at least 3 months of cashier experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or at least 6 months related experience.
• Minimum 3 months of cashier experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous customer experience.
• Respond to and resolve customer requests and concerns.
• Operate cash register.
• Ensure fuel and merchandise are available for customers.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Support the Store Manager in all store operations.
• Assist in leading the team to meet store performance goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• In absence of management, back up duties including paperwork, scheduling, inventory, and training new employees.

Responsibilities

• Providing prompt, efficient, and courteous customer experience
• Responding to and resolving customer’s requests and concerns
• Operating cash register
• Ensure fuel and merchandise is available for customers
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Supporting the Store Manager in all store operations
• Helping lead the team to exceed the store’s performance goals and objectives
• Performing job related duties as assigned
• In the absence of management provide backup duties including but not limited to completing daily/monthly paperwork, resolving problems, reviewing daily video, plan-o-gram compliance, inventory ordering, product count and equipment maintenance and training new employees

Requirements

• Must be 18+ years of age, 19 in Indiana, 20 in Kentucky and 21 in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Utah
• High school diploma / GED, or at least 6 months of related job experience
• Requires minimum 3 months of Cashier experience
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
