Job summary

Murphy USA in Covington, LA is seeking a part-time Shift Lead to help run daily store operations and deliver fast, friendly service. You will assist customers, supervise associates, and ensure inventory and cleanliness meet standards.

You’ll lead the team to achieve performance goals, handle cash tasks, and support the Store Manager. This role offers advancement opportunities and a strong, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age (Louisiana).
• Minimum 3 months of Cashier experience.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Able to perform repetitive bending, standing and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Providing prompt, efficient, and courteous customer experience.
• Responding to and resolving customer requests and concerns.
• Assisting customers with purchases and fuel transactions.
• Operating cash register and ensuring fuel and merchandise availability.
• Maintaining a clean and safe store environment.
• Supporting the Store Manager and leading the team to meet goals.
• Back-up duties including paperwork, inventory, and training new employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing prompt, efficient, and courteous customer experience
• Responding to and resolving customer's requests and concerns
• Assisting customers with purchases and fuel transactions
• Operating cash register
• Ensure fuel and merchandise is available for customers
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment
• Supporting the Store Manager in all store operations
• Helping lead the team to exceed the store's performance goals and objectives
• Performing job related duties as assigned
• In the absence of management provide backup duties including but not limited to completing daily/monthly paperwork, resolving problems, reviewing daily video, plan-o-gram compliance, inventory ordering, product count and equipment maintenance and training new employees

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18+ years of age, 19 in Indiana, 20 in Kentucky and 21 in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, New Mexico, Tennessee, and Utah
• High school diploma / GED, or at least 6 months of related job experience
• Requires minimum 3 months of Cashier experience
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Must be able to perform repeated bending, standing, and reaching
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
