Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team-oriented associate for our store location. You will greet customers, stock shelves, build displays, and assist with getting merchandise to the floor. You’ll also operate the cash register, handle transactions, and keep the store clean and organized.

Ideal candidates have strong interpersonal skills, basic math, and familiarity with plan-o-grams. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; experience with cash handling is a plus.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and prepare merchandise for stocking.
• Stock and rotate merchandise, build displays, and maintain plan-o-grams.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Operate the cash register, process payments, and bag items.
• Keep store clean, including floors, restrooms, and stockroom.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
