We are hiring a Storeroom Clerk in St. James.
Job Overview:
The Storeroom Clerk plays a crucial role in managing inventory, ensuring efficient stock replenishment, and maintaining an organized storeroom. This position also involves assisting customers, supporting the sales team, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the store.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory & Stock Handling:
- Keep the sales floor fully stocked with goods that are in the storeroom.
- Maintain an organized and easily accessible storeroom for quick restocking.
- Monitor product levels and compile warehouse order lists based on demand.
- Make frequent warehouse trips to replenish stock as needed.
- Implement and maintain a structured product coding system for goods on the floor and good in the storeroom
Customer Support:
- Greet customers warmly and offer assistance in locating products.
- Provide guidance on fabric selection, measurements, and usage recommendations.
- Ensure fabric is cut precisely and clearly labeled with quantity and pricing.
- Promote complementary products to enhance the customer’s shopping experience.
General Store Support:
- Assist in opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including removing packaging materials and waste.
- Help unload deliveries from warehouse trucks and stock merchandise efficiently.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Secondary school leaving certificate
- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role or customer service environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic knowledge of fabrics, measurements, and product handling.
- Must be reliable, disciplined, and attentive to detail.
