Job summary

NAPA is seeking a friendly, attentive Store Associate to join our Nevada City, CA location. You’ll help customers identify automotive parts, answer questions, and process transactions with accuracy and courtesy.

You’ll work in a fast-paced retail environment, use POS and inventory tools, and collaborate with teammates to ensure a high-quality customer experience and efficient store operations. The starting wage is $20.25 per hour.

SummaryThe Store Pro serves as the primary point of contact for customers in the retail store, representing the NAPA brand and delivering a high-quality customer experience. This role is responsible for providing automotive parts solutions, supporting both retail and wholesale customers, and contributing to store performance through product knowledge, responsiveness, and customer engagement. It offers a strong entry point or growth path within the organizationPosition Performance Measures:Customer satisfaction and service quality (CSAT, repeat business)Accuracy and efficiency in parts identification and order fulfillmentSales performance (retail and wholesale transactions)Responsiveness to customer inquiries (in-store and phone)Team collaboration and support to peersAdherence to store processes, systems, and operational standardsResponsibilitiesThe following primary responsibilities are not all inclusive:Provide accurate automotive parts solutions to retail and wholesale customersDeliver a consistently positive and engaging customer experienceUtilize product knowledge to assist customers and support team membersOperate systems including POS, inventory/catalog tools, and communication devicesMaintain high energy and customer focus in a fast-paced retail environmentSupport store operations including transactions, inquiries, and general workflowBuild relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat businessUtilize delivery management systems to coordinate and dispatch deliveries, pull and prepare orders for customers and drivers, and support efficient logistics and fulfillment operations.Perform general housekeeping, cleaning, and organizational tasks to maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming store environment.Assist with inventory control activities, including receiving merchandise, stocking shelves, conducting cycle counts, and helping maintain accurate inventory records.Contribute to various store operations and team support tasks as needed to optimize store performance, merchandising, and overall efficiency.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to store processes and operational standards.QualificationsRequired:High School Diploma or GEDValid Driver’s LicenseStrong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skillsCustomer-focused mindset with strong listening and problem-solving abilitiesWillingness to learn automotive parts and technology systemsPreferred:Experience in automotive, retail, or parts environmentHands-on experience with vehicle repair or maintenanceKnowledge of inventory or cataloging systemsBackground in automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, farm, marine, or dealership environmentsASE Certification (not required)LeadershipDemonstrates personal accountability and ownership of customer outcomesLeads by example in delivering exceptional customer serviceSupports team members by sharing knowledge and assisting with problem-solvingContributes to a positive, collaborative, and high-performance team environmentShows initiative in learning and career developmentOrganizational StructureReports to: Store Manager / Assistant Store ManagerWorks closely with: Counter Sales team, Inventory/Operations staff, and Wholesale customersPart of: Retail Store Operations within NAPAPhysical Demands / Working EnvironmentRetail store environment with frequent customer interactionStanding for extended periods and frequent movement within the storeAbility to lift and move automotive parts and materials (moderate weight)Use of computers, phones, and POS systems regularlyFast-paced environment requiring multitasking and responsivenessThis position offers a starting hourly rate of $20.25. For other positions, the starting rate will be determined based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
