Disney Disneyland Resort is seeking a Store Planning Intern for Spring 2027. You will bridge between onstage Operations and Merchandise teams, helping to shape product flow and floor plans for Disneyland Resort merchandise shops, ensuring a cohesive guest experience.

The six-month internship runs January 11, 2027 to June 4, 2027 in Anaheim, CA, with approximately 40 hours per week and a pay rate of $23.00 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Genuine passion for retail and merchandise, with a desire to grow in the industry.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in merchandise planning, merchandise financials, forecasting, and trend analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables
  • Highly skilled in creating and presenting PowerPoint decks
  • Excellent relationship, partnership, coaching, and leadership abilities
  • Proven experience setting priorities and meeting established timelines

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret business reports, assess key performance indicators while looking at current trends, and think critically about how to improve sales and guest experiences
  • Provide strategic feedback to Merchandise Strategy & Merchandise Planning teams to help shape product offerings and strategies
  • Communicate and create positive relationships with Operations teams for the implementation of merchandise strategies
  • Collaborate with Product Strategy and Visual Presentation to adapt merchandise offerings for quarterly updates and seasonal events, ensuring they align with guest expectations
  • Review upcoming product strategies, select items for each merchandise shop, and create floor plans & product flow calendars in collaboration with Visual Presentation

As a Store Planning Intern at the Disneyland Resort, you’ll bridge the gap between the onstage Operations teams and the Merchandise teams and gain a deep understanding of how we create unforgettable moments through products. Together, we devise strategies and manage product flow, ensuring that each location tells a unique story. Our goal is to help Guests recreate their experiences at home with the merchandise they purchase.

What You Will Do
  • You will build leadership skills and gain valuable experience in communication & critical thinking.
  • You will collaborate on the short‑term and long‑term strategic direction for the Disneyland Resort merchandise shops under your responsibility. Strategies are defined using guest data, product strategies, operational feedback, and financial data.
  • On any given day, you might:

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Knowledge and/or experience in merchandise planning, merchandise financials, forecasting, and trend analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills with an eagerness to continue building proficiency with elements like pivot tables
  • Highly skilled in creating and presenting PowerPoint decks
  • Excellent relationship, partnership, coaching, and leadership abilities
  • Proven experience setting priorities and meeting established timelines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior retail experience
  • Knowledge of retail math
  • Education: Senior year preferred
  • Major or previous coursework in Business, Finance, Retail/Merchandise, Math, or a closely related field
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines while at work
  • The dates of this internship are January 11th, 2027 – June 4th, 2027
  • Must have the ability to work full‑time hours (approximately 40 per week) Monday – Friday, for the duration of the internship
  • Being able to provide one's own housing and reliable transportation to/from work is required
