Job summary

PetSmart Store Support Group, Inc. is seeking a Store Planning & Integration Manager in Phoenix to coordinate enterprise initiatives with Store Operations and the associate journey in mind.

In this role you will maintain capacity calendars, analyze impacts, and present actionable planning information to leaders. A four-year work experience in store operations is preferred, with travel up to 10% and a hybrid in-office schedule.

About the Team

There are a lot of activities that happen in our stores so we have a strong cross-functional team focused on doing Anything for Pets by supporting the store teams through effective communications, processes and initiatives. The Store Strategy & Operations department leads the way to support all store activities and define business-driving strategies. The Workforce, Insights & Planning team owns labor optimization and reporting needs. The Operations & Innovation team owns merchandise execution, process improvement, compliance, store technology and innovation. And the Strategy team leads all the business-driving efforts for Salon, PetsHotel, Pet Training and In-store customer experience. These teams work diligently to ensure our associates, pets and pet parents are supported, while operating efficiently to drive the business.


About the Location

Collaborative Work Environment: At PetSmart, teamwork and connection are core to how we thrive. This role is based at our Phoenix Home Office, with an expectation of working a minimum of four days in the office each week. In a standard work week, associates may work up to one remote “flex day” (with leader approval). Our hybrid approach is designed to foster strong collaboration while also supporting flexibility and individual success.


About the Job

The Store Planning & Integration Manager supports the integration of enterprise initiatives, Long-Range Plan items, and Store Operations priorities into a coordinated view of store capacity and timing through the lens of the holistic associate and customer experience. This individual-contributor role maintains the store capacity and mindshare calendar, gathers planning inputs from cross-functional partners, analyzes store impacts, and develops clear planning information for leadership decisions.


The role supports the Store Support Committee program, formal field-feedback processes, the associate journey program, and cross-functional communications. It provides the planning discipline and operational insight needed to identify competing demands and help ensure initiatives are introduced to stores with appropriate awareness of capacity and the associate and customer experience.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Maintain an integrated store capacity and mindshare calendar reflecting known initiatives, operational priorities, and significant activities affecting stores.

  • Gather information about enterprise initiatives and Long-Range Plan items that may create work, change, or competing demands within stores.

  • Partner with EPMO, Strategy, and business functions to understand initiative timing, dependencies, intended audiences, and expected store impacts.

  • Translate initiative information into a clear view of store workload, timing, capacity demands, and potential conflicts.

  • Identify periods of concentrated store activity and provide analysis that supports capacity, timing, and sequencing discussions through the lens of the associate and customer experience.

  • Use PAW and other reporting systems to evaluate store impacts, analyze relevant operational information, and measure established success criteria.

  • Support Store Operations strategic-planning activities by consolidating initiative inputs and maintaining visibility to future work affecting stores.

  • Coordinate the Store Support Committee program, including meeting preparation, materials, stakeholder communications, and program administration.

  • Coordinate formal field-feedback activities and consolidate feedback, including Voice of the Associate themes, for leadership review.

  • Partner with Human Resources to connect relevant initiative planning and field feedback to the associate journey program.

  • Provide Store Operations subject‑matter expertise when gathering requirements and evaluating how planned work may affect stores.

  • Coordinate cross-functional meetings and communications that create shared visibility into planned store activity.

  • Develop clear summaries, presentations, calendar views, and other materials that support capacity‑planning discussions and leadership decisions.

  • Maintain strong cross‑functional working relationships across multiple functions throughout the enterprise.

  • Lead projects/programs related to annual updates for Store Operations (Rev Band, HOO, KPI prioritization, etc.).

  • Leads/supports other initiatives and projects assigned.

Education & Experience


  • Four or more years of relevant experience in store management, store operations, operational planning, project environments, or a related

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in Business, Operations, Strategy, Project Management, Analytics, or a related field preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • Up to 10% travel may be required

  • Knowledge of multi‑unit retail and store operating environments.

  • Excellent strategic planning, coordination, analytical and organizational skills.

  • Ability to use operational data and reporting tools to evaluate impacts and measure established success criteria.

  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and meeting‑facilitation skills.

  • Strong listening skills and the ability to consolidate field feedback into meaningful themes.

  • Ability to translate between enterprise planning language and practical store‑operating considerations.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and organizational levels to gather information and translate into plans or leadership materials.

  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate planning information in a changing environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant planning, analytical and reporting tools.

  • Ability to assess the combined impact of multiple initiatives on store capacity, workload, timing, and experience.

  • Analytical, organizational, and critical‑thinking skills
