Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Architecture, Interior/Industrial Design or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of space planning experience.
  • Strong AutoCAD experience required.
  • Retail industry experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and data analysis to drive space decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain store floor plans and fixture layouts.
  • Optimize space based on merchandising, operations, and codes.
  • Participate in plan reviews and update layouts as needed.
  • Analyze store data in Excel for capacity and space allocation.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Store Planner to support the planning and execution of retail store projects, including new store openings, remodels, expansions, and refresh initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining store layouts that align with merchandising strategies, operational requirements, customer shopping behaviors, and applicable building standards.

The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD expertise, analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain store floor plans, including fixture layouts, merchandise plans, permit/seismic plans, and signage plans while adhering to established standards.
  • Optimize retail space based on merchandising strategies, operational needs, customer traffic patterns, and building code requirements.
  • Participate in plan review meetings and update layouts based on evolving business initiatives and retail trends.
  • Analyze store-specific data using Microsoft Excel to determine merchandise capacity and space allocation.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, and related records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout all project phases, from planning through execution.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for store layout questions and installation-related issues.
  • Conduct field visits and inspections as needed to verify compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Stay current on relevant software systems, tools, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree, certification, or equivalent experience in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of space planning experience.
  • Strong AutoCAD experience required.
  • Retail industry experience preferred.
