Town Pump Company is seeking a motivated Store Clerk to join our team in Billings. You will be accountable for excellent customer service, cash handling, stocking, pricing, rotating and displaying merchandise, and maintaining store safety and cleanliness.

You will operate the computerized register, give correct change, and assist with deli duties while helping deter shoplifting and handle customer questions. Town Pump offers generous benefits and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail customer service or deli is preferred.
• Ability to handle cash and make change accurately.
• Willingness to perform varied duties in a convenience store.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for excellent customer service, cash handling and accounting, stocking, pricing, rotating and displaying merchandise.
• Operate computerized cash register, give correct change, scan cards, and bag merchandise.
• Remember regular customers’ names, answer calls, deter shoplifting and handle complaints.
• Stock shelves and coolers, keep areas clean, complete vendor check-in, and communicate policy issues.
• Sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean pumps, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of hot dog roller, condiment center, coffee and fountain areas.
• Perform deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.

As a Store Clerk Team Member, You Will

• be accountable for excellent customer service, cash handling and accounting, stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise, housekeeping inside and outside of the store, store safety and store security, and deli food sales and cooking.
• Operate computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
• remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, police the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
• stock shelves and coolers, complete accurate and effective completion of shift work, clean and maintain all areas of the store, complete vendor check-in procedures, complete the protocol system and “drive off” controls, and advise the store manager of any situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
• sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, fill water/cleaning solution buckets on islands, and complete any other duties assigned by management.
• keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• perform all deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
