Job summary

Town Pump is seeking a motivated Store Clerk to join our team in Billings, MT. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, cash handling, stocking and displaying merchandise, and ensuring store cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service at the register and in-store.
• Handle cash, give correct change, process payments and bag goods.
• Recall regular customers; screen phone calls and address complaints.
• Stock shelves, price, rotate, and display merchandise; maintain store cleanliness.
• Sweep lot, clean gas pumps, and perform other duties assigned by management.
• Keep deli areas clean and stocked; perform deli duties as needed.

As a Store Clerk Team Member, You Will

• be accountable for excellent customer service, cash handling and accounting, stocking, pricing, rotating, and displaying merchandise, housekeeping inside and outside of the store, store safety and store security, and deli food sales and cooking.
• Operate computerized cash register, give correct change, scan credit cards, accept and process checks, and bag merchandise.
• remember regular customers’ names and faces, answer and screen phone calls, police the store, detect shoplifters, and listen to and handle customer complaints.
• stock shelves and coolers, complete accurate and effective completion of shift work, clean and maintain all areas of the store, complete vendor check-in procedures, complete the protocol system and “drive off” controls, and advise the store manager of any situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
• sweep the lot, shovel snow, clean gas pumps, fill water/cleaning solution buckets on islands, and complete any other duties assigned by management.
• keep the hot dog roller, nacho and popcorn machines, condiment center, coffee, and fountain dispenser areas clean, filled, and stocked.
• perform all deli duties in smaller locations as described in the deli job description.
