Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• 1 year of experience as department or store manager or equivalent.
• Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval.
• Retail management experience & knowledge of store operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience and develop associate interest in customer service/relations.
• Assist store manager in leading teams in planning, implementing and executing merchandising/operating initiatives.
• Assist store manager with developing action plans and communications to associates on survey results.
• Work with department heads to identify store opportunities and develop timely solutions.
• Role model high level of customer service and resolve issues.
• Manage total store operations in store manager’s absence.
• Achieve/exceed sales and budgets, including safety and shrink targets.
• Drive sales by collaborating with department managers to maximize profits and reduce shrink.
• Assist in budgeting discussions and communicating targets to associates.
• Communicate with union representatives if applicable.
• Promote relationships with community organizations.
