Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Sarasota, FL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee daily operations, customer service, and team development. You will support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and maintaining compliant store processes.

Responsibilities include merchandising, supervising associates, handling opening/closing procedures, processing corporate directives, and ensuring a clean, safe shopping environment for customers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked store and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Ensure associates follow policies and procedures; supervise and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and restock as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
