Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Grocery operations. Responsibilities
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
  • Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in performance appraisals.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions or make suggestions.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  • Inform customers of grocery specials.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  • Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Implement the promotional plan for the department.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  • Assist in preparing the store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and take appropriate actions.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
  • Schedule price changes and update shelf tags and signs.
  • Supervise inventory process and train associates on inventory and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
  • Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  • Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs.
  • Report safety risks, customer or employee accidents, and illegal activities.
  • Work cooperatively in a high-paced, stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict reasonably and cooperatively.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  • Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
Minimum:
