Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Effective communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Any retail experience
- Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
Responsibilities include:
- Promote trust and respect among associates
- Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products and store services
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions and information about grocery specials
- Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate actions
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise; provide customers with ordered products
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
- Display a positive attitude and stay current with store ads and promotions
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines, maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report all safety risks/issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud
