Currently, we operate 71 retail locations in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. We cater to our customers' needs by supplying a wide variety of products across departments such as tools, hardware, automotive, pet, work and casual clothing, footwear, farm supplies, horse and livestock feed, bird food, lawn and garden, and alternative heating.

The primary responsibility of a Family Farm and Home Store Manager - Unassigned is to learn and support the company's culture and philosophies. They must have strong leadership skills to motivate and supervise team members. The Store Manager - Unassigned will learn merchandising, shrink control, and store operations. A successful candidate will be knowledgeable about the local market, customer base, seasonal opportunities, competitors, and other market specifics influencing the business. This role requires being a role model, leader, problem-solver, and strategic thinker, managing time effectively to meet budgeted goals.

Store Manager - Unassigned will be responsible for learning how to operate a store within 6 to 12 months and must be willing and able to relocate afterward.

Essential duties include:

  1. Promoting Family Farm and Home's mission and values.
  2. Fostering an aggressive sales culture with a focus on superior customer service.
  3. Maintaining a motivated team through hiring, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and firing; planning and evaluating performance.
  4. Maintaining professionalism and positive morale.
  5. Executing store responsibilities through team members and personal actions.
  6. Scheduling and assigning staff, monitoring results.
  7. Providing feedback to company officials.
  8. Full profit and loss accountability.
  9. Assisting in budget preparation, monitoring expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  10. Building rapport with customers to identify their needs.
  11. Supporting community involvement in line with company values.
  12. Managing merchandise availability and inventory.
  13. Protecting company assets and inventory from theft and damage.
  14. Ensuring merchandise is received, stored, and displayed properly.
  15. Maintaining a safe, clean environment complying with legal standards.
  16. Reviewing financial and operational data to adjust marketing strategies.
  17. Staying current professionally through workshops, publications, and networking.
  18. Enforcing operational and personnel policies for consistent store operation.
  19. Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements for Manager Trainee:

A successful Store Manager - Unassigned demonstrates excellent leadership and problem-solving skills, can manage with limited supervision, and possesses good communication skills. They should be comfortable with hiring and firing, understand customer service, and be team-oriented. They must interpret data effectively, handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and be physically capable of standing for extended periods, moving merchandise, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.
