Job summary

Ace Hardware in Corbin, KY is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the duties of a WD Bryant Ace Hardware Store Manager and develop the skills needed for a Store Manager role. You will learn to deliver Legendary Customer Experience, build a strong team, drive sales, and manage inventory and profit.

Average training period is 3 to 6 months; the role requires 5+ years of store management experience, and a high school diploma or business degree is preferred. Valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years store management experience.
• Retail or hardware experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting, hiring, developing, evaluating, disciplining, and retaining team members.
• Delivering Legendary Customer Service and WOW experiences.
• Plan daily activities and manage staffing for store operations.
• Lead merchandising and inventory management to meet sales goals.
• Coordinate with District Manager to improve processes and implement promotions.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment and develop team members.
• Open/close as MOD and handle banking tasks.
• Train on budgeting, forecasting, payroll analysis, and paperwork.
• Support district initiatives and community involvement.
